Third Party Claims
Workers compensation is the only lawsuit you can file against your employer or coworkers for injuries that occur at work. However, if someone other than the employer or coworkers is responsible for the injury, a claim may be filed in addition to the workers compensation claim. Common examples include:
- Improper upkeep on property which is not owned by the employer, such as faulty stairs at an office building or ice left in access ways.
- Machinery built improperly or made without proper safety features.
- Forklift rollovers.
- Work related car accidents caused by non-employees.
Third Party lawsuits are complicated and require legal assistance from a personal injury or products liability attorney.
