Understand Your Rights and Gain Control of Your Life

In most workers compensation cases, no lawsuit is required and you never have to go to court. When a worker is injured on the job, the injury is reported to the employer, the employer reports the injury to their workers compensation insurance carrier and the correct benefits are paid in full. In a normal case no settlement is needed since the benefits are paid and you never need to "settle" for anything. (Do not confuse settlement with a Permanent Partial Disability Agreement which is not a settlement.) Unfortunately, sometimes insurance companies do not pay the benefits correctly, or they try to settle a case in order to save money. In some situations they deny payment entirely. If an insurance company tries to pull that on you, you need to take action.

The Injured Workers Association of Utah (IWAU) is a Utah non-profit corporation concerned with over 70,000 injured, disabled and displaced workers each year who suffer the financial and personal hardships occasioned by industrial injuries and occupational diseases in Utah. It is neither union nor non-union, and represents all members of the workforce. Its membership is open to all injured workers regardless of race, creed, color, age, sex, national origin, religious persuasion or political affiliation
